Bio

Hey! My name is Rémy, and I am a 4th year student at the ENS de Lyon. In October, I started a 5-month internship in the Mechanisms of Epigenetic Inheritance Unit, led by Dr. Germano Cecere. In Cecere’s team, I will study the phenomenon of programmed DNA elimination in the nematode Mesorhabditis belari. This process occurs at the early stage of embryonic development and eliminates about 30% of the M. belari genome, mainly repetitive sequences but also some protein-coding genes. I aim to elucidate the mechanism underlying this process and identify the proteins involved in DNA elimination.
